Jim Bail with decades of experience in MLB, College, HS and Youth coaching, is glad to say that hitting isn't as complicated as some might have you think. Come ready to work and enjoy it!
Along with 18 years as a scout for the Atlanta Braves, his experience spans everything from coaching Big-League prospects, DII College Baseball (Head Coach, Franklin Pierce University), High School, Legion, to 10 years of Little League as his kids were growing up.
He founded and has run the Windham Hitting Academy for the past 23 years - a highly successful program that simplifies the swing and burns proper mechanics into muscle memory. Although he covers everything, his specialties have shown themselves to be hitting and catching for everyone from aspiring pro prospects to young kids.
Although he can (and has) spent all day on details, his unique strength is in simplifying the swing into very understandable terms. Overall, it's as simple as this: Make sure we iron out the fundamentals (balance, rotation, basic hand path) - then really focus on hand-path, hitting vision and timing. Surprisingly, this applies to pro-prospects equally as much as it does to young kids. At the end of the day, we hit with our hands and with our eyes. It is his consistent teaching goal to build a rock-solid understanding and foster remarkable growth in your confidence. He does this by breaking the swing down into its components and burning them into muscle memory.
